Winter Parking Restriction Ordinance

Whereas, the Remington Town Board has determined that a hazard to the safety and welfare of the residents of
the Town of Remington exists, which hazard is caused by vehicles being parked on the town road right-of-way
during the hours when snow is being plowed: and
Whereas, notification of the owners of such vehicles parked on town road right-of-way during the hours when
roads are being plowed is deemed difficult: and
Now, Therefor, The Town Board of the Town of Remington, Wood County, Wisconsin, do ordain as follows:
Section 1: Winter Parking Restrictions
During the period of November 1 through April 15, it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle on any town road rightof-way. Any vehicle found parked upon any town road right-of-way may be towed at the owner’s expense if the
Town Road Patrolman and /or Town Board Member shall deem necessary for the health and safety of the
residents of the Town of Remington.
Section 2 Violations and Penalties
Any person violating any of the provisions of the ordinance shall, upon conviction, be subject of forfeiture of not
less than one dollar($1.00) or more than two hundred ($200.00) together with the costs of prosecution and in
default of payment thereof, shall be imprisoned for a period of not less than one (1) day or not more than six (6)
months or until such forfeiture and costs are paid.
Section 3 Effective Date
This ordinance shall be effective upon passage upon the Town Board of the Town of Remington and upon
publication provided by law.
